The first thing to check is the battery charge. It should be full of charge and acid. Be careful not to overcharge your battery. This will boil the acid out and will reduce the life of battery considerably.

Here is our guide to maintaining your fishing boat.

The first thing to check is the battery charge. It should be full of charge and acid. Be careful not to overcharge your battery. This will boil the acid out and will reduce the life of battery considerably.

If your fishing boat has problems starting, check the kill switch lanyard. Sometimes, the lanyard cap weakens and the button on the kill switch will be jammed in stop mode. To check, remove the lanyard and press the button. If the engine starts, replace the lanyard with a new one.

Next thing to do is check your fishing boat connections. Fuel and oil hoses tend to leak, allowing air inside.

If hoses or connections appear hard, replace the hose and the clamp.

Next, check the engine mounting bolts, and the steering cables by moving them in both directions. If they don’t move easily then you can grease the cables. If the cables are still difficult to move, then change them.

Inspect the lower unit, checking there is no water in the oil. The oil should be full.

Check there is no fishing line tangled around the shaft of the propeller. While the propeller is off, grease the prop shaft splines.

Now check the power trim and tilt. Tilt the engine to the up position and remove the plug. The oil level should be level with the threads.

It’s also important to check the wiring on your fishing boat. The wiring may have deteriorated on your fishing boat, especially if it has been stored for sometime.

If this is the case, be sure to replace any wiring. Ignoring this could lead to a dangerous accident.

Make sure you check the bilge pump and aerator for cracks. And finally, check the plug is on drain.

Don’t neglect your fishing boat trailer. This will also require regular maintenance. Check the hub bearings and replace if necessary. Check for signs of water or rough spots on bearings. Grease the trailer jack, and check the wiring and lights.

Maintaining your fishing boat and trailer will ensure your boat lasts longer. That means more fishing trips for you! You’ll find that putting a little effort into the maintenance of your fishing boat will pay dividends in the end.

Selecting the Right Power for Your Boat
Helpful buyer’s tips hints from the staff of the Aluminum Boat Guide.

Once you’ve chosen the aluminum fishing boat that’s right for you and your family, you’ll need to choose the right outboard. For many first-time new boat buyers, particularly women, this decision-making process can be a bit intimidating — but it doesn’t need to be. Don’t be afraid to work with your fishing boat dealer to pick your engine. With just a little advance homework, you’ll feel comfortable discussing your small boat choice with your salesperson, and you’ll be ready to make an informed and confident decision.

First of all you will be purchasing an outboard engine.

You’ll be looking at either direct-injection two-stroke outboards or four-stroke outboards for your new fishing boat. Your dealer will be happy to explain the difference in these two types of engines. If you’d like to do a little research beforehand, Discover Boating provides an excellent overview of the engine types for best fishing boats.

These days, there’s not a big difference between engines and aluminum boat brands. They’re all very reliable, burn cleanly and offer great performance for family watersports. Your kids don’t need to worry about the engine not pulling hard enough to pop them out of the hole on tubes, boards or skis if you are buying a fish & ski boat — and you can rest assured that starting your engine will be as effortless as starting your car. In addition, all of today’s outboard motors have become very fuel efficient compared to outboards from just a few years ago on used fishing boats.

The biggest question is going to be horsepower. To determine the engine size that’s right for you, go through the following checklist at home:

Budget: Determine how much you can afford to spend on an engine for your new fishing boat. (Your dealer will be happy to provide pricing for various horsepower selections.)

Usage: Discuss how you plan to use your aluminum boat. Are you going to use it for cruising and maybe occasional tubing and waterskiing? Are you planning to ski a lot? Or primarily fish? Will you be towing older kids and adults? Will you frequently carry large groups of passengers? So what is the best aluminum boat for needs?

Possible restrictions: You’ll want to consider any lake restrictions for your new boat. In other words, is it a small lake with limited opportunities for watersports? Or is it a big lake that will allow you to run wide open with a new fishing boat? Are there any engine type or horsepower restrictions on your local lakes?

Test ride: If you can, go for a ride with those friends or neighbors — and also ask your dealer to take you out for a few test rides with varying-horsepower outboards on their best fishing boats. Aluminum boats tend to perform about the same, regardless of brand, so in test rides you’ll really be getting a feel for the engines. And how you feel about the ride is more important than other people’s opinions when it comes to new aluminum boats.

To provide a little perspective on horsepower, a family who is purchasing a fishing boat to fish a small lake will likely stay in the 9.9 to 30 horsepower range although smaller horsepower engines are available. For tubing and occasional waterskiing, that range jumps to 75 to 100 or more horsepower depending on the new boat size. And if you’re planning on doing a lot of kneeboarding, wakeboarding and waterskiing with older kids and adults on a big lake, you should consider the largest engine that will fit your aluminum boat’s rating and your budget.

Now you’re ready to go see your dealer, who will help you make the appropriate decision on the engine for your aluminum boat; on performance options such as hydraulic steering; and on the correct propeller, based on how you’ll use your best aluminum boat.

If you are considering plans for your next fishing charter boat trip in New Orleans, you’re in luck. With more and more inside waters being reopened by the Louisiana Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries to recreational fishermen, the choices and opportunities regarding your next fishing adventure are virtually endless. But if you’re new to the game and don’t know quite where to begin looking for a quality fishing charter boat, you may have questions pertaining to the process and which companies are available and trustworthy in the field. It is for these people that this very article is dedicated.

When it comes to choosing a company for your fishing getaway, there are quite a few ways to go about the decision making process. Below, we will outline a few tips and tricks to get you booked and out on the water.

Step 1 – If you have fishing buddies who have worked with services in the New Orleans area in the past, call them up and partake in a discussion regarding the quality of their trip and whether they’d recommend the company. Find out about pricing, location, added perks and the overall experience to obtain a general feel for what you might expect from that specific organization. Word of mouth is always an excellent way to find quality services and this situation is certainly without exception.

Step 2 – Hop online and dedicate a portion of time to checking out reviews for fishing charter boat services in the New Orleans area. While it is somewhat of a niche market, there are a few sites available which provide prospective travelers a variety of resources including reviews, personalized accounts and ratings. In addition, many of these companies now have their own websites which will let you in on various service options, past fisherman testimonials, specific pricing information and any other areas that you might find of interest. Contact information should also be available.

Step 3 – Once you’ve checked out a few of the companies, your best option is to simply pick up the phone and get to know your potential crew. Keep a list of questions and concerns handy to ensure you cover all of your bases, and find out all the information you can regarding your future trip. How big are the boats? How long are the trips? What dates are available?

Step 4 – After you’ve spoken with each company, it’s time to make a decision. Chances are you’ve already got a pretty good idea of who you want to trust with the enjoyment of your adventure. Compare each company, the services they offer, pricing and availability and make your choice.

Step 5 – BOOK IT! Call your winner and inform them of your plans. Once you’re all set, it’s off to the supply shop!

The 2 main shipyards at Devonport and Appledore are now owned by the giant Babcock engineering conglomerate and appear to be thriving. Appledore is tied up for the next few years working almost entirely on modules for the 2 new supercarriers, HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales. One of the bow units has already been completed and delivered to the main assembly yard at Rosyth.

Meanwhile, the Devonport facility, which has been quietly nurturing a superyacht building business, has apparently won so much new Ministry of Defence work that it is seriously considering transferring the superyacht side to a new company with a 200 man facility at Falmouth in West Cornwall.

At the other end of the spectrum, there is still an enthusiastic and skilled collection of smaller enterprises maintaining the South West’s historic boatbuilding tradition built up over the centuries since the days of Drake, Hawkins and Grenville.

Some of these build and repair classic clinkerbuilt wooden boats while others specialise in sailing dinghies and small yachts.

In between these 2 extremes, the South West’s expanding burgeoning marine industry focuses on one or two big names which have carved themselves an enviable reputation over the years for stylish designs and beautiful build quality.

The Plymouth based Princess Yachts have come a long, long way since they built their first Project 31 way back in 1965. The workforce now totals about 1,450 while worldwide sales now exceed £140 million.

Another up and coming name is Ribeye, the Dartmouth based manufacturer of rigid inflatables. These are becoming increasingly popular because of their versatility. Apart from being used as inshore lifeboats and general purpose runabouts for customs and other authorities, they make fine, all-purpose leisure craft for cruising, racing or towing waterskis. Many of Ribeye’s customers with larger vessels like to use their inflatables as tenders either because they prefer anchoring off or simply have an aversion to paying mooring fees !

Still owned and managed by the Chivers family, Ribeye is a fine example of beautiful design combining perfectly with down-to-earth practicalities. The relatively deep V-shaped hulls are designed to give the boats outstanding performance and relative comfort in even the choppiest waters. Basically, if they are tried and tested around the UK coastline, they are capable of withstanding the friskiest conditions.

Each vessel can be bespoke to a customer’s individual requirements and all come with Yamaha outboards as standard. Now celebrating its second decade in existence, the Ribeye name has already built up an enviable niche position both in Britain and in overseas markets. Fortunately in this roller-coaster economic environment, the range comes in shapes and sizes to fit all budgets within the £5,000 to £50,000 range.

Thinking of a RIB boat, think Ribeye. For fun and exhilaration as well as for family use with safety features paramount,
Ribeyes really fit the bill.

Buy the Award Winning ‘Esca Lures’ online at http://www.innovativefishingtackle.co.uk/

If you’re a first-timer and you want to purchase fishing boats in a hassle-free way, there are some tips that can help you out. These tips can be very useful when you are selecting the right fishing boat for you.

It is always advisable to put into consideration the role that the fishing boat has to play. We all know that the fishing boats’ main function is to be utilized in fishing activities. But prior to your purchase, it is necessary to take into account some other purposes.

Do you intend to use your fishing boat in the ocean, lakes, or in other bodies of water? Before buying, it is always good to consider the place or the setting where you will be using your fishing boat.

Another important consideration is the time your fishing boat will be used. Are you going to use it for day fishing and day trips or for fishing activities overnight? If you are planning to use your fishing boat for overnight fishing in the ocean, it is better to choose a fishing boat that features a hull. Fishing boats like these are made specifically for rough waters. They promise more comfort due to their ability to ride with the ocean’s waves.

Moreover, your budget definitely matters. Fishing boats can be costly so it is important that you know how much you want to invest for your boat. You should also ask if the fishing boat that you want to buy has a warranty. Since warranties are not uniform across dealerships, brands, or even the time of the year, you need to carefully scrutinize the warranty that comes with the fishing boat you wish to purchase.

Aluminum Fishing Boats

Aluminum fishing boats are growing more and more popular these days because of the many advantages they have over those that are made from fiberglass or steel.

Aluminum fishing boats are typically more resistant to corrosion, rot and leaks and they are more power-efficient. Aside from that, aluminum fishing boats are also stronger and are easy to fix and repair once they get damaged.

It is true that you need more bucks in purchasing an aluminum boat but it will pay off in the long run with much savings in fuel, repairs and upkeep and maintenance and towing. Aluminum fishing boats are ideal not only for fishing but also for your recreational activities. They can be used if you want to cruise with your family, whether in fresh or salt waters.

Aluminum fishing boats are good for individual fishermen because they are really easy to manage. This type of fishing boat has a high strength-to-weight ratio making it easy to carry by just one person. It is also easy to load on an ordinary vehicle and set into the water when you are ready to use it. Another factor that adds to the aluminum fishing boat’s versatility is that it is easy to upgrade. This boat allows you to install some features that you may want.

Also, you can’t question the durability of an aluminum fishing boat. They sport a solid construction with metal pieces welded along the boat’s seams which prevents water from getting inside and makes joint disconnection less likely to happen. Unlike fiberglass fishing boats that usually shatter, aluminum fishing boats withstand impacts by means of deforming into dents or dings which can simply be hammered out.

An aluminum fishing boat is undoubtedly a good investment. Because it is lighter, it requires a smaller motor that require less fuel to operate. Talking about maintenance, an aluminum fishing boat just needs regular cleaning and not routine maintenance like waxing. With its many advantages, an aluminum fishing boat is truly of great value.

Inflatable Fishing Boats

Have you ever considered an inflatable fishing boat, rather than a traditional “boat”? They cost much less money, and are extremely portable. If you’re looking for a boat, it may be time to give and inflatable boat a look. There are kayaks, personal pontoon boats, and motor mount boats that all come in inflatable versions. Seriously, there are even inflatable boats that you can mount small engines onto.

Personal pontoon boats are a wonderful way to fish a river. They offer speed and versatility that walking and wading can’t even compare to. With the aid of a personal pontoon boat, a person can cover miles and miles over river in a few short hours. These inflatable fishing boats offer an angler the ability to explore water that otherwise would go un-fished. This is especially true in the west, where rivers experience much less fishing pressure than other areas of the country.

Inflatable Kayaks can be wonderful for running rivers with a heavier flow. As a matter of fact, some inflatable Kayaks can be used in up to class 4 rapids! It’s true, although I would suggest that only experienced boaters try running rapids of this caliber right off the bat. Inflatable kayaks can be wonderful for those of you who fly into remote fishing camps. They fold up small enough to fit right on the float plane with you. Inflatable kayaks are also great for campers, seeing as how the kayak will fit into a backpack, so that it can be carried with you. Yep, if you like to hike into remote lakes, an inflatable kayak might be perfect for you.

There are even inflatable motor mount boats. My family has an inflatable motor mount boat at our cabin in northern Canada. We also have a small 5 horsepower motor for our inflatable that pushes the boat around quite well. Then when it’s time to leave, we simply deflate the boat and store it in the basement until the next year. It’s a beautiful system. The cost of one of these motor mount inflatables is considerably less than a traditional boat that can easily cost into the high thousands of dollars. We find our inflatable to be a cost effective alternative.

Inflatable boats come in all shapes and sizes in this day and age and offer boaters added conveniences that traditional boats just don’t offer. If you’re in the market for a boat, it may be time to give inflatables some consideration. A quality inflatable may make boating necessary for many people who thought that boating was beyond their budget.

A few days ago someone who read a report of mine sent his answers to the followup questions I asked on what he read. One of his answers raises an important point about the famous quote Andrew Carnegie gave Napoleon Hill that appears in Think and Grow Rich.

Mr. Carnegie, regarded as the first billionaire, said that the Creator, with infinite wisdom, gave people absolute control over just one thing: The thoughts they give their attention to. And, fortunately, that one thing is enough for us to have whatever we truly desire.

The first follow-up question I asked was, “What was your your first reaction when you read what Andrew Carnegie said about the only thing you have absolute control over?”

Just for your perspective in case you’re unfamiliar with the history, Mr. Carnegie’s fortune in today’s dollars would be about eight times more than the current richest person alive.

The gentleman who was the first to share his answers to my questions said he heard that quote before, although no one previously told him how to do that.

My response to him gives you some important prosperity coaching and will help you better use this power that you need to begin manifesting more of the things you truly desire, as well as to Think and Grow Rich! How you choose which thoughts you focus on is two-fold:

1. Having a powerful “Burning Desire” that you put your heart and soul into, which becomes your driving force.

That causes everything to align with fulfilling that intention and you naturally focus on it and use that power Andrew Carnegie said is the one thing we need, to have everything we desire. It guides you in the right direction, keeps you from being distracted and builds momentum quickly to fulfill this Burning Desire.

The more power you give it, more often – through giving it your attention – the more motivated you remain and the quicker it happens for you.

I then asked my friend who responded to the questions I asked in the report to do the same thing I’ll ask you to do: Think carefully about your Burning Desire and give it so much intensity and importance that you can really *feel* it, like rubbing two sticks together until it catches fire and burns on its own.

2. Do your best to be here and now, staying consciously in the moment.

People lose their power when they think about the past or what might happen in the future. Keep your attention focused on *right now*. If you feel your attention wavering, gently steer it back to your Burning Desire, or to what “gives you joy, inspires you and moves you closer to your goals, desires and dreams”. This gets easier as you do it more, until you’ve done it often enough that it has become a habit and you’re naturally creating everything you desire without even thinking about it.

Your strong Burning Desire helps here, too, by keeping you moving in the right direction toward its fulfillment. You can look at it as a speed boat moving fast toward your destination that’s firmly within your focus. That’s how powerful your Burning Desire is. We talked earlier about how important it is that you really *feel* your Burning Desire. The more you feel it, the more real it becomes, which also allows you to focus more strongly on it.

That makes it more of a driving force, like pushing hard on the throttle and quickly accelerating the speed boat toward fulfilling this important goal. Your job then is just to keep it squarely in focus and make any needed course corrections as it gets closer and closer. What’s your response to this only thing we have absolute control over, which is enough for you to have everything you desire?

Internet research can be an enormous help, doubly so if you’re trying to make a fishing boat – let’s take a look and make some interesting discoveries. I’ll save you the trouble of spending hours on the internet and help you out with the inside story which isn’t usually found without a lot of digging. Without a shadow of a doubt – if you’re serious about learning how to construct real boats that float then you must check out the following information, which will really help.

Click Here to make a fishing boat now!

So you’re now ready to take the plunge on a way to construct real boats that float and it seems to me that you can be successful more easily than you’d think.

Like in many other cases, this field isn’t free of hassles and obstacles and one of the trials that is not uncommon is that boat building can be quite difficult. To be honest, i never counted how many potential sites that are out there, but this much i can say: professional boat plans is well worth checking out very seriously. One cause for my decision that this is so helpful is because of something quite significant – it provides almost all possible boat plans. I wonder, did you realize that it shows you how to build Sloops and small boats? – this is an additional very significant benefit of this.

At this point i assume that you start seeing the overall view; peruse the rest of this report – i’m going to share some additional facts. Since i sat down to write this, an added potential benefit popped into my mind about all of this: use it to build Sloops and small boats – just an idea for you to think about. Of course, this is just one idea that i came up with, and it’s very likely that you can think up your own list of suitable applications.

Before i let you go, it’ll be very helpful for you to make a fishing boat as soon as possible to find out how exactly it is going to help you. It doesn’t matter what you’ll find out about this topic after reading my quick article, just be sure to form your opinions only when you’re comfortable that you’ve made the right choice. You now understand that the topic of digital boat plans has been in need of this sort of development and now we are able to reap the benefits of progress and this is great news for all (even though a few areas could be improved upon). As i’m sure you realize, it can be a lengthy process to get off to a good start, but occasionally all that’s required is a quick visit to a one-stop resource. I suggest you take what you’ve learned here and use it; i have tried to make it helpful, and to-the-point and i believe you will find it valuable.

Fishing boats come in all different styles these days. Each style of boat has a use for each fisherman’s way of fishing. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages. Boating manufacturer’s understand that there is a need for a variety of vessels for each person’s tastes and that no one has the same taste when it comes to their need for a boat used specifically for fishing. Aluminium fishing boats have some advantages and disadvantages for the user.

The size of the boat is very important to the fisherman. Aluminium boats, like others, are built with different styles of fishing in mind and can be used for different fishing venues. You can purchase a fishing boat as small as ten feet and you can get them up to over twenty feet for larger water and group fishing.

Another factor in determining the right boat for you is the shape of the hull.

Designs for aluminum boats go from a v-shape to the very sturdy and stable pontoon style fishing boat hull. Each has a specific shape for each fisherman’s certain needs in fishing.

If you so choose, you can paint your boat to a color and design of your liking. You can make your aluminium boat change into whatever you need or want it to be. This is much harder for fiberglass boats.

If you like to fish in lakes that used to be rivers and streams, and now are man made lakes, then the aluminium boat is for you. The reason for this is that this boat is resistant to damage. Metal is hard to puncture. Man made lakes are filled with branches and stumps from trees that may be fully submerged or partially submerged. If you get a dent, then you can just hammer it out.

A metal boat such as this will not prone to rust. They have a resistance to it. In addition, they are very sturdy. The metal of aluminium is very lightweight.

Repairing a boat like this is not that hard to do. If, by chance, a hole occurs in the boat, then it can be fixed easily with a patch and a weld. This is not easy to do for wood for fiberglass boats. If a hole happens in one of these, then the repair can be costly.

These boats don’t need much fuel to get them going because they are lighter. And, if you run out of fuel, then you would be able to row the boat back to shore with no problem.

Refrain from using your aluminium boat on the ocean. This is crucial due to the saltwater content of the oceans. They are much more suited to fresh water. Salt water will rust metal. Aluminium has a resistance to rust, but over time, the metal can weaken and be more readily prone to leaks. Also, don’t fish when lightning is nearby, these boats can attract lightning.

For all the different choices in watercraft to choose from, and all the different venues to fish on, aluminium fishing boats are a natural choice for the avid outdoorsman. They are very tough, very sturdy, and are very versatile. They are a natural choice for any fisherman.

The bright, snowy white comet that is a speed boat flies across the water, clocking in at amazing speeds with both elegance and agility. The speed boat can easily outrun a cruiser, a naval ship, or an oil carrier with time to spare. A speed boat is also known for its turns that seem to be made on the dime, and without a single wasted angle. Contests and races are almost always between speed boats, who have both the looks and the performance to create amazing spectacles. Between the islands of an archipelago or two ships on the open water, speed boats are used to ferry people quickly between two points with astonishing speed.

Speed boats do not commonly have masts or sails, but backups may be installed elsewhere on the ship. A speed boat is perhaps the smallest boat of any commercially used boat on the water. The speed of a speed boat is where the ship truly shines and makes up for its diminutive stature. However, the number of people one speed boat can carry varies greatly between brands.

The model speed boat is quite similar to its full size brethren in construction and size. On occasion the size of a model speed boat may be magnified many times due to the modelers’ preference, but on average they are very small vessels even as models. If you know someone new to model boat collecting, consider the perfect starter gift of a model speed boat – perfect size and with barely any need to clean it. Model speed boats are often based off real life boats that have won or participated in many races. A model speed boat gives off a very competitive feel with its aggressive, pointed design that is balance nicely with skillful lines. Racers of speed boats are similar to racers of cars in that they prize their engines. These engines are often made for both ships and cars by car companies. Those who race speed boats constantly recalibrate and tweak the boat to its optimal performance.

There are a great many brands and types of ship model boats available today. A model speed boat that works on water is rare, but is most certainly created well. Children and their model speed boats are generally made of sturdier materials and as such aren’t suitable for being displayed, but are highly adapted to being used through remote control on a body of water. Dark surfaces and cabinets with glass doors for visibility provide the best environment for displaying a model speed boat, as the boat itself is usually painted a vivid white that stands out amongst its surroundings. While some choose to lay their model speed boat on its side, a properly fitted cradle also works well for the model speed boat. Offices, tables, and sitting rooms are ideal for a model speed boat display area, and great care should be taken in choosing where to display it, as safety and optimal display light should be first and foremost.

George is an avid collector and connoisseur of all things nautical – nautical decor, model boats, historical artifacts, etc. He has written articles for several large manufacturers and retailers of model ships, and he is a master ship builder himself. He brings a unique perspective from both the retail and the consumer side of the nautical decorating and model boat building markets.

Offshore fishing

If fishing for you means a wide open sea, catching huge fish and using a heavy tackle, then offshore fishing is your activity of choice. However, this form of fishing is not without risks. In fact, it is more dangerous compared to shallow water or lake fishing. You need to be knowledgeable about weather patterns and navigation to go out there in the open waters. This is not to a fishing activity for beginners. Casting offshore also requires more skill and extra precautions such as carrying life vests on board.

Choosing a boat

Offshore boats are specialized so that they can brave all types of weather and water conditions that you may encounter in the open waters, therefore they are sturdier.

Vessels that are worthy and capable of the open sea are quite luxurious. They include basic center consoles, plush quarters, cuddy cabins, single or twin outboards up to convertible or bluewater fishing machines, fancy salons, and powerful inboard diesel engines. Offshore fishing boats also differ in design and purpose and prices vary widely.

Online help

There is a lot of information that can be obtained on the Internet in choosing the right offshore boat that fits your budget. A lot of websites that specialize in fishing information and fishing boat retail provide pictures, specifications, prices, and contact information if you need to ask further questions. This allows you a wide range of options and product comparison when looking for offshore fishing boats.

Portable Fishing Boats

Portable fishing boats are a great way to access otherwise inaccessible water, as well as an extremely affordable option to the cost of high priced boats.

So what do I mean when I use the term ‘portable fishing boat’? A portable fishing boat is a boat that can be easily transported from fishing spot to fishing spot without the need for anything like a trailer. This fact alone cuts the costs of these types of boats considerably.

When it comes to portable fishing boats the best options available are inflatable. Yes, I said inflatable, but I’m not referring to those boats that are used in pools and sold in Super centers throughout the world. The inflatable boats that I’m referring to are made by companies who do nothing but make inflatable boats. This means that they make quality inflatable boats that stand up to a ton of punishment.

Inflatable boats are the best option when it comes to portable fishing boats. There are many styles available from canoes and kayaks to inflatable pontoon boats. The fact that this style of boat is inflatable also makes them much more affordable than traditional boats. The key to a portable fishing boat is to purchase your boat from a quality manufacturer who stands behind their boats with things like money back guarantees, free trial periods, and/or free or discounted shipping options.

There are two main styles of portable inflatable fishing boats as I mentioned before. There is the canoe style inflatable fishing boat and the pontoon inflatable fishing boat. Both styles are great for different fishing situations. For example if largemouth bass fishing in lakes is the preferred fishing method, larger inflatable pontoons are probably the way to go. These portable fishing boats are great for many bass fishing situations.

On the other hand if river fishing for trout is the preferred fishing method, an inflatable kayak or canoe could be they way to go. Inflatable kayaks or canoes are a great way to fish small rivers and steams. These portable boats can be used in lake fishing situations as well. These boats are extremely lightweight and very easy to maneuver in the water.

The bottom line is that portable boats, whatever style is chosen, are an affordable alternative to high priced fishing boats. These boats also provide the owner with the ability to easily transport said boat from fishing spot to fishing spot without much of a problem.

As I said earlier, get your inflatable boat from a quality manufacturer and it will last for many years. I know I’ve personally had both of my portable fishing boats for more than 10 years without any problems.

Center Console Fishing Boats

The center console fishing boats consist of a spacious open deck area with a central control station that offers all-round fishability with the option to cast from almost any position on deck, and are a popular choice with the offshore anglers. These fishing boats can range in length from 15′ to 35′ and in most cases are trailerable.

Center consoles are available in a choice of hull configurations, such as deep-v, modified-V or cathedral bottom and constructed in either aluminum or fiberglass. To accommodate the needs of the angler these boats come equipped with a generous casting platform, a lighted bait well to keep the bait alive longer, a ice cooler to keep the fish, and mounted rod holders. With a capacity to hold a maximum of 4 to 8 passengers onboard, and due to the open deck, offers little in terms of protection in wet or breezy weather conditions.

Boston Whaler, Fisher, Tahoe, and Wellcraft all manufacturer a series of high-quality center consoles that offer outstanding fishing options, with plentiful storage space to conceal the fishing gear, and offers excellent maneuverability and performance to suit the angling activities.

Also, for the do-it-yourself enthusiast boat plans and kits are available to self-build a series of sturdy center consoles, such as a 23′ Key West sport fisherman to offer a spacious deck area for a gang of anglers to fish in comfort or a simple 16′ Power Dory that’s built in stitch and glue to give the easiest of construction methods.

Center console fishing boats are easy-to-trailer, operate on a single outboard engine, and often equally suited to inshore shallow waters as well as the more challenging offshore conditions.
